Benefits of Bilingualism

Many people believe that learning more than one language is not beneficial at all. In my opinion, I think speaking more than one language is very beneficial. For example, if you are bilingual you can communicate with more people. If you are able to communicate with more people then you can get paid more in your job. Not only that but you can also open your eyes to different cultures. When you  are bilingual you not only have the chance to learn how to talk the language but also learn about their cultural. You can learn about their life style, different foods, celebrations, e.t.c..

As stated in the video, many believe that speaking more than one language at a young age can be bad. They believe that it can slow down a person's brain development. But, as said in the video, it has been shown that speaking more than one language helps various parts of the brain grow.
If you want to know some more benefits of being bilingual look at the video below.

  1. Dear Eliana,
I agree that knowing more than one language gives you the opportunity to learn about another culture more easily. I really wish I was fluent in more than one language!
I hope that you have enjoyed blogging this year and learning about new technology tools. I have enjoyed so much having your class in the library. Please consider continuing your blog or creating a new one in which you can share your talents. Sincerely, Mrs. Lofton
